Digestive Tract

The Digestive Track is a group of hollow organs in which food is processed.  It also includes other organs that attach to the gastrointestinal system and provide chemistry important for the digestive process.

The digestive system process involves many organs, all contributing multiple enzymes and other chemistry to be mixed into food to help digest it. The human digestive system process is complex and requires a substantial amount of energy to complete. The functions of the digestive process are compartmentalized with each part providing a separate function.

Next stop is the stomach, an organ designed to mix food with enzymes from your mouth and to begin the digestion of proteins, if any, in your meal. After a period of time, the food is released into the small intestine, the longest part of the digestive system.  Once in this part of the gastrointestinal system, enzymes are contributed from the liver and pancreas.

The food also spends the most time in this part of the digestive system, completing digestion before  arriving in the storage part of the digestive system, called the large intestine or colon. Food descends for exit through the rectum during a bowel movement.

The digestive system process begins in your mouth. As you chew, your saliva contains salivary amylase and when mixed into your food begins the breakdown of certain carbohydrates in the food. The human digestive system process continues in your stomach where hydrochloric acid is secreted into the chewed food if it contains proteins. If it does not, the food is released into the upper part of the small intestine.

The extensive digestive system process continues as a complex secretion of enzymes and other substances begin.  The functions of the digestive system involve sensing acid and fat levels in the food and the secretion of enzymes from the pancreas.  First, the pancreas senses the pH of the food and secretes sodium bicarbonate or "baking soda" into the food to buffer the hydrochloric acid contributed by the stomach.

Next, the digestive system process senses the level of fat in the food and to help digest the fat bile is secreted from the gall bladder. Bile is manufactured in the liver and stored in the gall bladder for this event.  Additionally, the pancreas kicks in a complement of digestive enzymes to assist with the digestive system process of digesting proteins, carbohydrates, starches and fats.

Functions of the digestive system are very specific to the need with these enzymes. The pancreas secretes protease for protein digestion, cellulases and amylases for starch and carbohydrate digestion and lipase for fat digestion. All of these functions of the digestive system break down the food you eat into the smallest molecular structures for proper absorption and utilization by the many chemical processes in the body.
Though there are numerous named diseases of the human digestive system, the most common and debilitating digestive system diseases are Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Crohn's Disease and any type of Colitis. Any disease of the digestive system can change your quality of life, but it's claimed that more than 50 million people suffer from one of these diseases of the human digestive system or one or more uncomfortable symptoms of the digestive system.
Irritable Bowel Syndrome may be one of the most well known diseases of the human digestive system.  Symptoms associated with this disease of the digestive system may include gas, bloating, indigestion, heartburn, GERD, reflux, diarrhea, constipation, alternating diarrhea/constipation, abnormal bowel urgency/frequency, pain, spasms, hemorrhoids or vomiting.

Crohn's Disease and any type of Colitis are also digestive system diseases. They are classified as an inflammatory and auto-immune disease of the digestive system. The above named symptoms can be experienced by the patient and could also include blood or mucus in the stool.

Conquering these diseases of the digestive system can be accomplished permanently through the use of a more natural protocol and without lifetime reliance on medications. In all three of the above mentioned diseases of the human digestive system, imbalances occur in the beneficial bacterial balances...caused primarily by the use of antibiotics...and also in the chemistry of the gastrointestinal system. Certain foods then become intolerable to your digestive system and cause much discomfort.

The use of all natural supplements and probiotics (a supplement used to re-establish proper bacterial levels) combined with temporary dietary restrictions will eliminate almost any disease of the digestive system.
